Not Much to Say...Just Pics

Not much to report over here.  Getting over another bug and waiting for 2 more feet of snow.  They are going to have to dig us out of this house.  Seriously.  Our swing set is almost under snow.  Crazy town.  Hope all those in Indiana are surviving the storm as it moves our way.  Enjoy some pics from the past few days!

Some Pics

Well, we are fighting another bug around here.  Just a cold bug, but more of a pain since it comes so closely on the heals of the barf-a-lapooza.  So, here are just a few pics from the past few days.  Enjoy!

 Two sisters!

The sweater I just finished knitting for Bea. Sooooo warm!

Making Cookies with Papa

Today the children enjoyed some time making cookies with Papa - a first, to be sure.  There was, of course, no insignificant amount of help from Mama (the man was intent on mixing the dough with a whisk of all things!)  In the end, the cookies turned out yummy and the kids had fun.

More Snow

Well, as predicted, we got more snow.  Something like 10-12 inches, I think.  Steve couldn't go to work again (3rd time this week).  Madness.  Here is what our yard looked like this afternoon:

Goodness, no?  The kids had fun - except Bea, who refuses to touch her precious princess feet in cold snow.  Instead, she spent the day wearing an expensive party dress that until this morning had never seen the light of day:

We spent the rest of the day crafting, which included knitting for Mama and weaving for Sabina (although that really meant that Mama was weaving, since I have to rip out every other row that she weaves!).  I am currently making a zipper sweater for Ashi, however it is looking a little small, so it might end up being for one of the two smallest Pestkas.  I recently finished one for Bea, but I haven't yet taken a photo of it.  Soon.

Bunny Surgery, Chalkboards, and Snow - Oh My!

So today was the day that our little bunnies had to have their "lady parts" removed.  Very traumatic - for them, of course.  They seem to be doing well, although a bit groggy still.  Having had two C-sections, I can certainly commiserate with the girls.  But hopefully this will curtail the random acts of humping and biting each other's hair out fits.  Milk and Cookie are now resting comfortably in their cage for the night.

On a more exciting note, we found a great used chalkboard on Freecycle!  How much do I love getting cool free stuff on that site?  This thing is HUGE.  I am talking 3.5 x 6 Feet!  Very cool.  Room enough for all the Pestka babes to work at the same time.  It works fine, but could use a new coat of chalkboard paint.  We'll see if and when I ever get around to that.  Sabina and Ashi are enjoying drawing on the board, while Bea is enjoying erasing everyone's work before they are done.  And Ellie just likes to suck on the chalk. :-)

And then there is the snow.  Oh heavens me, the snow.  When will it end?  We had 2 feet a while back, and that had not yet melted when we got another 2 feet a few days ago.  Now we are due for another 6 inches tonight.  No more school snow days!  Ach!  Too many kids locked up in the house at once.  Goodness.

And here are a few more cute pics:

Getting Better

Well, it seems as though the puke-fest that has been raging in our home is nearly over.  We thought we were in the clear yesterday, so took the 3 older kids to see a movie playing at the club we belong to.  Alas, as soon as we sat down on our blankets, Beatrice let loose.  Ick.  I sheepishly grinned and apologized to the fellow movie-goers while I mopped up the nastiness.  She did, however, make it through the rest of the flick with no further incidences.   And today we have been free and clear.  So let's hope it's over.

I have more photos to post, but will get to that later tonight.  Also have to show you all the very cute sweater I just finished for Bea.  So comfy.  And she actually wears it!  A knitting-mama's dream.

The Puke-Fest Continues

Here's to the barf bucket.  Ugh.

Return to the Blogosphere

Well, it's been a whole year since I started this silly little blog.  And 10 months since I last posted to it!  Shameful, I know.  But that is what 4 little kids will do to you.  That, and turn your hair gray.  Not much to relate today, other than we are in the middle of a full-on vomit fest in this house.  I was sick last week, Steven had the virus a few days ago, then Ellie got it, and now Bea and Ashi are throwing up all over the place.  Fun.  Barf buckets galore.

Sabina, as usual, is unscathed by the silly viruses that plague the rest of us.  I would be a bazillionaire if I could bottle up her immune system of steel and sell it.  Guess that's what 13 months in an Eastern European orphanage will do for you!  That and ringworm.  Ha ha.

So anyway, I will try to post more frequently now.  I have determined that my brain is slowly turning into oatmeal.  Sabina asked me today to spell "animal" for her, and I honestly did not remember if it ended in -al or -el.  Sheesh.  I guess it will do me some good to actually have to write words done on a regular basis - even if they are automatically checked by spellcheck!  Enjoy the pics from today.
